Landscaper

The Landscaper is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of outdoor areas including lawns, gardens, walkways, and other exterior features. This role involves the care, planting, and maintenance of greenery; operation of landscaping equipment; and the removal of debris and other materials to ensure a safe and clean outdoor environment. The Landscaper may also perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf collection, and irrigation system maintenance. This position plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and well-maintained property appearance.

Job Duties

• Perform general clean-up of all outdoor areas including walkways, gardens, lawns, and parking areas.
• Comply with Health and Safety and WHMIS requirements for Personal Protective Equipment.
• Respond to client or management requests related to outdoor property maintenance.
• Mow, trim, edge, and fertilize lawns; prune shrubs and trees to maintain shape and health.
• Plant flowers, bushes, trees, and other vegetation as needed.
• Water plants and lawns manually or by operating and maintaining irrigation systems.
• Maintain seasonal grounds duties such as raking leaves, removing snow and ice, and spraying or pulling weeds.
• Clean outdoor furniture, signage, fences, and equipment.
• Apply mulch, compost, or pesticides as directed.
• Maintain landscaping tools and machinery (e.g. lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, snow blowers).
• Report defective equipment or unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools to complete landscaping duties.
• Maintain exterior features such as fences, pathways, and garden structures.
• Assist with minor repairs of outdoor lighting and irrigation systems.
• Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
