Join the team at Prairie Junction as our Summer Student! Help keep our park clean, welcoming, and running smoothly for every guest. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is looking to gain experience in travel, tourism, and hospitality.
Position Overview
As a Summer Student Team Member, you’ll support the daily cleanliness, organization, and guest experience at Prairie Junction. This role focuses primarily on housekeeping, cleaning, and general upkeep while also assisting guests with basic questions and helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping & Cleaning Duties
- Clean and reset cabins and RVs after guest check-outs
- Sweep, mop, sanitize, replace linens, make beds, restock supplies, and remove garbage
- Clean and restock public washrooms, showers, and laundry facilities daily
- Help clean and sanitize the hydrotherapy area, including the hot tub, cold plunge, and sauna, following cleaning procedures and maintenance logs
- Maintain cleanliness in common areas, guest spaces, and high-traffic areas throughout the day
- Support event center cleanup before and after events
- Assist with deep cleaning projects during slower periods or rainy days
Guest Support & General Duties
- Welcome guests and assist with basic questions about the park and amenities
- Distribute and collect shower, restroom, and laundry access cards
- Help keep the front office and guest areas organized and stocked with supplies
- Bag and label ice and help stock concession or vending items
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to management
Seasonal & Grounds Support
- Water flowers and help maintain the appearance of entrances and common areas
- Assist with light outdoor upkeep and seasonal duties
- Support event setup and teardown when needed
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and positive environment for guests and staff
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, hospitality, janitorial, or customer service experience is considered an asset but is not required
- Friendly, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment
- Physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and performing cleaning duties
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Compensation & Perks
- $15.00/hour
- Flexible part-time schedule (2–4 shifts per week)
