Legal Assistant- Residential Real Estate

This permanent, full-time role is in the Drumheller office of Smith & Hersey Agribusiness Law LLP. Position holds potential for advancement as competency is demonstrated.
The Role
- Manage and complete residential real estate files working for purchasers, vendors, and financers under supervision of the lawyer on the file
- Draft and complete reporting packages for clients and financers
- Prioritize workflow to ensure completion of accurate work within established deadlines
- Maintain files: including daily filing, organization, opening files, closing files, etc.
- Handle client correspondence, both incoming and outgoing
- Administration duties, including bill preparation
- Ensure proper receipt, handling and disbursement of trust funds
Skills and Experience Required
- No formal training or experience required
- Completion of a recognized legal assistant program is preferred, but not necessary
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organization skills
- Highly motivated
- Capacity to work effectively within deadlines and short time frames
- Responds to everyday tasks with little supervision
- Maintains professionalism, confidentiality and discretion
- Able to work independently
