About the Role

As a Construction Lead in our Work Coordination group, you’ll play a key role in preparing and managing the execution of contracted electrical distribution projects. You’ll oversee construction packages, track progress, and help drive field-readiness. Your attention to detail and collaborative approach will ensure projects are built safely, efficiently, and to standard.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the preparation of contracted construction projects by scoping work, identifying required permits, and confirming resourcing needs such as crew size, equipment, and materials
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Survey, Forestry, and Field Operations to ensure projects are execution-ready
  • Validate bills of materials, confirm delivery schedules, and ensure job sites are prepared for construction
  • Plan and coordinate outages with the System Operations Centre and field leadership
  • Liaise with contractors to resolve site issues, clarify scope, and uphold safety and quality standards
  • Conduct site visits, lead kick-off meetings, and support constructability reviews
  • Monitor contractor performance, review and approve invoices, PCRs, and change requests
  • Support incident response and storm recovery efforts as needed, including on-call participation
  • Perform safety verifications, locate validations, and assist with switching activities or field testing

What You Bring:

  • Journeyperson Powerline Technician (PLT) Certificate valid in Alberta or Inter-Provincial Red Seal equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of PLT experience, with a strong understanding of construction work methods, safety codes, and engineering drawings
  • Project planning, contractor management, and outage coordination experience
  • Comfortable using technology tools such as Maximo, APS, GNET, and ForSite
  • Familiarity with Alberta Electrical Utility Code (AEUC), OHS, and environmental regulations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel and support other areas when required
