Beverage Merchandiser

ROLE SUMMARY
The Beverage Merchandiser plays a critical role in driving buyer behavior. You are responsible for ensuring stores are fill with the right products in the assigned locations and back rooms are well kept. You play critical role in driving sales and improving the shopping experience for our customer’s customers.

Key Responsibilities – What you’ll be doing

• Merchandise Display: Arrange and maintain product displays in retail stores, ensuring they are visually appealing and organized to maximize product visibility and sales.
• Merchandising Compliance: Follow company guidelines and store policies to maintain compliance with merchandising and safety standards.
• Stock Management: Monitor product inventory levels, restock shelves, and rotate products to ensure that older items are sold first (first-in, first-out method).
• Product Placement: Strategically place all products sold and distributed by Red Deer Bottling to attract customer attention, increase brand visibility, and drive sales. Product placement may be determined through planograms, national contracts and/or additional space won through our sales team. It is a team responsibility to ensure we all know where our spaces are in an account.
• Pricing and Promotions: Ensure that pricing labels are accurate, and promotional materials are properly displayed, keeping track of any special promotions or discounts.
• Product Knowledge: Stay informed about all products sold and distributed by Red Deer Bottling and updates, including new product launches, to effectively communicate product information to customers and store staff.
• Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with store personnel, address any issues or concerns, and provide excellent customer service.
• Equipment Maintenance: Report issues with equipment such as coolers and racks to management.
• Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting up to 75lbs in a safe manner as directed by Management and WCB requirements. This role often involves heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, so physical fitness and stamina are essential.
• Safety First: Work with Management to ensure all safety requirements determined by Alberta Health, WCB and/or the Company are upheld. It is important to note that disregard for mandated safety requirements will result in termination of your employment.
• Teamwork: Support and contribute to a fun, respectful work environment by being an exceptional teammate. Collaborate with other team members, such as sales representatives, delivery, M.A.C Leasing and Vending, front office; everyone!
• Brand Reputation: Represent Red Deer Bottling and Coca-Cola brands with pride. Wear team uniforms and gear where provided and pay attention to how you are representing the Company in the trade.

Qualifications – What we’re looking for

• 1 Year of related experience (preferred)
• Experience with wholesale and retail environments
• Familiarity with Coca-Cola product and brand families
• You have a great attention to detail and take pride in doing the job well
• You enjoy working independently but know how to be part of a team
• You have a customer service mindset

Requirements – Must Haves

• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license (abstract required)
• Located near Stettler or Drumheller as home base
• Must have a reliable vehicle

Regular Hours

• 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM, Thursday - Sunday
• Hours may vary, flexibility is an asset
• Overtime opportunities available
