Position: Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for equipment within the plant, as well as yard and facility maintenance, which includes a large variety of heavy-duty machinery. The technician maintains a safe and efficient working environment by keeping equipment running smoothly. Maintenance Technicians are versatile workers who ensure that the equipment involved in plastics processing is properly maintained and repaired as necessary.
Duties& Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Perform day-to-day tasks, including the setup of machines based on production demands.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Responsible for performing preventive maintenance.
- Re-builds and installs machinery as required.
- Liaison with Operations team to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure replacement parts comply with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Always uses proper Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, safety, and other standards
- Maintains good housekeeping in work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A background in maintenance
- Electrical and welding qualification is an asset.
- Capable of working with minimum supervision.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and occasional weekends as required.
