We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our Smitty's Drumheller team as a Line Cook. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with food preparation and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen area. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the food service industry and contribute to a dynamic restaurant environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating meats
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistent quality of meals
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining experience for customers
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen
Experience:
- Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic food handling and preparation techniques
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team
