Term Seasonal Wage Position Available for 2025
- Hourly rates starting at $30.4584 - $33.6891 depending upon licensing, experience/education
- Work week hours are dependent on assignment – placement is within Special Areas 2 (Hanna area), Monday through Friday, overtime will be required.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated safety-oriented person to join our team as a Grader Operator. The successful candidate is responsible for operating a Grader to maintain access roads and right of ways in accordance with quality, safety, and efficiency standards. This position is responsible for maintaining oiled and gravel-surfaced roads within predetermined standards of Special Areas polices and procedures.
Description: Key Duties will include:
- Operation of road equipment in performing such tasks as road maintenance and grading
- Effectively and safely operating graders to move and grade earth, rock, gravel, or other materials, utilizing machine specific controls and machine attachments to complete all necessary tasks related to road maintenance. This includes operating on adverse terrain and/or near other equipment and power lines.
- Recognize existing and potential hazards and knows how to identify these through conducting a field level pre-job hazard analysis, checking the machine for hazards, and assessing any tasks before start.
- Reporting, equipment services and minor repairs
- Performing mechanical inspections and servicing, including controls and operations, completing logbooks, performing maintenance and adjustments, ensuring good housekeeping, and performing machine lubrication
Requirements:
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED)
- Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the operation of a motor grader or combined experience in an operational service-related field. A combination of experience/training will be considered.
- Prior experience on the efficient operation of a CAT 150 & 160M grader and/or JD 772GP & 872GP
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Competent working knowledge in the care and use of all tools and equipment common to this position
- Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact, and discretion in dealing with requests, complaints, and clarification of information.
- Physical capability to perform the job duties required. Lifting of over 50 lbs. and ability to enter and exit equipment/trucks required
Important Considerations for Applicants
- These are designated safety sensitive positions and mandatory pre-employment drug testing will be conducted on all newly hired employees
- These positions will be working outside completing fieldwork in rural-remote areas
- Availability to work into September/October
- Overtime work may be expected as a part of this role.
