We are currently seeking a Community Outreach Worker to provide high-quality, person-centered support to an adult with developmental disabilities who lives in the community.
This role is ideal for someone who is compassionate, organized, and motivated, with a calm and positive approach. You will support daily living activities, encourage independence, and engage in meaningful community and recreational activities that enhance quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, dignified, and individualized support
- Support social, recreational, and community-based activities
- Promote independence, empowerment, and inclusion
- Implement individualized support plans and programs
- Provide support for developmental disabilities and mental health needs
- Maintain a calm and supportive presence while working with complex needs
- Transport the individual to community activities using your personal vehicle
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong organizational skills with flexibility to meet changing needs
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable
- Valid Emergency First Aid & CPR certification
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (RCMP or local police)
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle for transporting client (mileage reimbursed)
- Proof of vehicle insurance with minimum $2 million liability coverage
- Proof of vehicle registration for insured vehicle
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset
- Knowledge of local community events and resources is an asset
- Willingness to complete all required PDD training
