Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, public areas, exhibit halls, staff offices, and breakrooms.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors and carpets.
  • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including glass display cases, furniture, handrails, and fixtures.
  • Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
  • Remove garbage and recycling, and transport to designated collection areas.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to the supervisor.
  • Ensure cleaning is done in compliance with health and safety regulations and museum standards.
  • Assist in setting up or cleaning up after special events when required.
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Previous cleaning or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good physical stamina; ability to lift up to 25lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, or holidays if required.
  • A respectful and professional attitude toward museum staff and visitors.
