Automotive Journeyman Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair vehicles to OEM standards across engine, transmission, driveline, brakes, steering/suspension, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics using OEM scan tools and service information systems.
  • Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs within flat-rate guidelines; document findings, cause, and correction.
  • Conduct quality control road tests and post-repair verification.
  • Maintain clean work area; follow safety and environmental procedures.
  • Mentor junior and apprentice technicians as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with advisors on estimates, timelines, and additional findings.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years professional automotive technician experience (journeyman level).
  • AMVIC certification.
  • OEM training/certification for brand preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency with OEM and aftermarket diagnostic platforms.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR; ability to drive manual transmission.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and time-management skills.
