POSITION SUMMARY
The Activity Specialist contributes to the overall customer experience at the Badlands Community Facility by delivering high‑quality service, supporting recreational programming, and ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all patrons. This role facilitates activities, assists with member services, and upholds facility standards in accordance with Town policies and Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide friendly, proactive customer service to all visitors in person and over the phone.
  • Process drop-in fees, memberships, and program registrations; issue receipts and maintain accurate cash handling practices.
  • Offer information and support regarding facility programs, activities, and services.
  • Set up, take down, and prepare areas for programs, rentals, and activities.
  • Provide basic technical support for equipment used in programs and events.
  • Assist program staff with activities or lead basic programming when required.
  • Participate in emergency procedures as required.
  • Administer first aid and respond to incidents in accordance with training and facility protocols.
  • Promote safe use of the facility and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and presentable facility at all times.
  • Complete scheduled cleaning tasks, including restrooms and high‑traffic areas.
  • Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards promptly.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Experience in customer service, cash handling, recreation, sports, or facility operations considered an asset.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be bondable.
  • Criminal Records Check required.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage variable workloads.

Hours per Week:                   Flexible
Compensation:                     Starting at $18.34 per hour
