The Parts Advisor is responsible for assisting customers and service technicians in identifying, sourcing, and purchasing the correct automotive parts. This role ensures smooth operations in the parts department by maintaining inventory accuracy, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting the service department with the parts necessary for repairs. The Parts Advisor acts as a key liaison between customers, the service team, and the dealership, ensuring an efficient and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers in-person or over the phone, assisting them in identifying and purchasing the correct parts for their vehicles.
- Parts Identification: Use the dealership’s system to look up parts, provide pricing information, and ensure customers and technicians are given the right parts for the job.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, conduct regular inventory counts, and report discrepancies to the Parts Manager.
- Service Department Support: Work closely with the service department to ensure technicians have the necessary parts for repairs and maintenance work.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of transactions, parts orders, and inventory data in the dealership's system.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or automotive-related certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in an automotive parts department or dealership is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and parts.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency with inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry automotive parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
