International Student Services Advisor

Golden Hills School Division invites applications for a temporary part-time (0.80 FTE) International Student Services Advisor to commence September 20, 2024. This position works with a team of International Student Services Advisors with a focus on accommodations, activities, and student support. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Supporting and monitoring students and advising their families and agents
  • School and accommodation placement
  • Crisis management
  • Liaising with and supporting school, office, and dormitory staff and homestay parents
  • Recruiting new homestay families and fostering current homestay relationships
  • Planning, executing, and supervising student activities
  • Organizing student orientations and school tours
  • Building partnerships with local businesses for events
  • Supervising extracurricular student events
  • Assisting other international staff as required

Playing a role in ensuring all students have a successful GHSD experience is an essential part of the position as is crisis management. Administrative support may also include:

  • Medical insurance follow-up
  • Agent support and follow-up
  • Assisting with the creation of posters, brochures, handbooks, and advertisements
  • Dormitory staff management
  • General clerical duties as assigned

Preference will be given to individuals with:

  • Strong relationship abilities
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to take charge
  • Capacity to navigate word processing, spreadsheet, email, and student database software
  • Appreciation of different cultures
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Experience working with children and youth
