Golden Hills School Division invites applications for a temporary part-time (0.80 FTE) International Student Services Advisor to commence September 20, 2024. This position works with a team of International Student Services Advisors with a focus on accommodations, activities, and student support. This includes but is not limited to:
- Supporting and monitoring students and advising their families and agents
- School and accommodation placement
- Crisis management
- Liaising with and supporting school, office, and dormitory staff and homestay parents
- Recruiting new homestay families and fostering current homestay relationships
- Planning, executing, and supervising student activities
- Organizing student orientations and school tours
- Building partnerships with local businesses for events
- Supervising extracurricular student events
- Assisting other international staff as required
Playing a role in ensuring all students have a successful GHSD experience is an essential part of the position as is crisis management. Administrative support may also include:
- Medical insurance follow-up
- Agent support and follow-up
- Assisting with the creation of posters, brochures, handbooks, and advertisements
- Dormitory staff management
- General clerical duties as assigned
Preference will be given to individuals with:
- Strong relationship abilities
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to take charge
- Capacity to navigate word processing, spreadsheet, email, and student database software
- Appreciation of different cultures
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Experience working with children and youth
