The Town of Drumheller is seeking a Project Manager to join our Projects Team to support multiple Capital Projects spanning facilities’ upgrades, utility, road and surface work, and natural sites development.
The Project Manager reports to the Director of Infrastructure Services and works closely with the Project Team while independently plans, leads and manages capital projects for the development and improvement of Town assets and amenities.
The Project Manager will oversee entire projects starting at the initial concept through planning and construction, until completion and handover. The project manager is the one responsible for ensuring that the project is delivered on time and on budget, which involves stakeholder involvement, client meetings, communications, and administrative tasks
Overseeing and directing workers and/or contractors to ensure the alignment of procedures and workflows; creating and monitoring benchmarks; checking materials and allocating resources according to the budget; and negotiating contracts with suppliers and sub-contractors are typical duties of the position.
The Project Manager will create and produce documents for internal and external use, and conduct internal and public communications and meetings.
The Project Manager develops and monitors project budgets and schedules.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a Civil or Mechanical Engineer, or Civil or Mechanical Engineering Technician, and has completion of Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
A minimum of 2 years recent and directly related experience in project coordination or project management is required. Experience leading and coordinating others is required to be successful in this job.
