Journeyperson Ironworker (accepting applications for contractors and employees)
We are seeking a journeyperson ironworker to begin immediately on site!
The successful candidate will be able to:
- work under minimal supervision
- demonstrate communication skills; written and verbal
- work outdoors in various weather conditions
- fabricate structural steel, ornamental work, and pre-cast structures on a variety of projects
- study blueprints, drawing, and specifications to determine the layout of work
- position steel units, align holes, and insert temporary bolts while checking alignments and joining steel parts using simple torque and hand wrenches
- unload and stack steel units so each piece can be hoisted as needed
- know, understand, and operate grinders safely in accordance with safe work practices and procedures
- ability to recognize spool hoisting point and utilize proper rigging techniques and signals while working in a fast-paced environment
- can perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyperson Ironworker ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
Must be willing to attend safety training or have the following tickets:
- CSO
- H2S
- WHMIS2015
- EWP
- Fall protection
