Journeyperson Ironworker

Journeyperson Ironworker (accepting applications for contractors and employees)

We are seeking a journeyperson ironworker to begin immediately on site! 

The successful candidate will be able to:

• work under minimal supervision
• demonstrate communication skills; written and  verbal
• work outdoors in various weather conditions
• fabricate structural steel, ornamental work, and  pre-cast structures on a variety of projects
• study blueprints, drawing, and specifications to  determine the layout of work
• position steel units, align holes, and insert  temporary bolts while checking alignments and joining steel parts using  simple torque and hand wrenches
• unload and stack steel units so each piece can be  hoisted as needed
• know, understand, and operate grinders safely in  accordance with safe work practices and procedures
• ability to recognize spool hoisting point and  utilize proper rigging techniques and signals while working in a fast-paced  environment
• can perform other duties as assigned

‍Qualifications:

• Valid  Journeyperson Ironworker ticket from a recognized provincial training  authority

Must  be willing to attend safety training or have the following tickets:

• CSO
• H2S
• WHMIS2015
• EWP
• Fall  protection
